Appearances: White crystalline powder. Easy to discolor when exposed to light.
Solubility: slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in ethanol, ammonia, carbonate, hydroxide solution of alkali metal, ether and benzene, with significant acidity, soluble in caustic soda solution and sodium carbonate solution.

 

Use:
It is used in the manufacture of azo dyes. It is also used as a pesticide for the control of wheat rust.
It is mainly used in the manufacture of dyes, printing and dyeing auxiliaries and the prevention and control of wheat rust
It can also be used as intermediates for spices, food coloring, pharmaceuticals, whitening agents, pesticides, etc.
It is used in organic synthesis and also used as color layer analysis reagent.
It is used as a benchmark reagent to determine aluminum, magnesium, potassium, sodium, iodine, iodide and nitrite. 
Used with 1-naphthylamine to determine nitrite and to test osmium and ruthenium. 
Indirect determination of potassium by potassium nitrite. Determination of serum bilirubin, soil analysis.
It is also applicable in the fields of printing and dyeing auxiliaries, pesticide fungicides, spices, food coloring, pharmaceutical building materials, etc.
Analytical reagent, such as as a benchmark reagent for the determination of nitrite.
Used as chromatographic analysis reagent, and used in dye synthesis, pharmaceutical industry.

Decompose by heat, emitting toxic gases such as nitrogen and sulfur oxides. Decomposes on seeing light.

Storage: 
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse.
