Introduction:

Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a commonly used cellulose ether organic water-based ink thickener. It is a water-soluble non-ionic compound. It has good thickening ability for water and can be degraded by oxygen, acid and enzyme. Under neutral conditions, it can be cross-linked by Cu2+. It is stable to heat, does not gel when heated, does not precipitate in acidic conditions, and has good film-forming properties. Its aqueous solution can be made into a transparent film, which can be formed by the action of alkaline cellulose and ethylene oxide. Thickening, emulsifying, bonding, suspending, film forming, moisture retention and protective colloid and other properties. The function of thickener in water-based ink is to thicken. The viscosity of the ink added with the thickener increases, which can improve the physical and chemical stability of the ink; due to the increase in viscosity, the rheology of the ink can be controlled during printing; the pigment and filler in the ink are not easy to precipitate, and the storage stability of the water-based ink is increased. 

 

Application:

Hydroxyethyl cellulose is generally used as a thickener, protective agent, binder, stabilizer and additive for the preparation of emulsions, jellies, ointments, lotions, eye cleaners, suppositories and tablets, and is also used as a hydrophilic gel Glue, skeleton material, preparation of skeleton-type sustained-release preparations, and it can also be used as a stabilizer in food.

Used as surfactant, colloidal protective agent, emulsification stabilizer for vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and other emulsions, as well as viscosifier, dispersant and dispersion stabilizer for latex. Widely used in coatings, fibers, dyeing, papermaking, cosmetics, medicine, pesticides, etc. It also has many uses in oil exploration and machinery industry.

It can also be used as emulsion thickener in the paint industry, hygrostat in the electronics industry, cement inhibitor and moisture retention agent in the construction industry. Ceramic industry glazing and toothpaste binder. It is also widely used in printing and dyeing, textiles, papermaking, medicine, hygiene, food, cigarettes, pesticides and fire extinguishing agents.
