Physicochemical  Properties:

Colorless transparent viscous liquid. Easy to deliquescence. It is miscible with water and hydrolyzed to orthophosphoric acid without crystallization. Corrosive.

 

Applications and Usages:

Used as a cyclizing agent and acylating agent in organic synthesis, and also a substitute for orthophosphoric acid.
