Features: Dodecyl alcohol esters are widely used in China's buildings and decorative materials as a very ideal film-forming aid.

Alcohol ester twelve is a strong solvent for latex polymers and has very good hydrolytic stability, high coalescence performance, and a wide range of applications, but its main function is to be used for film-forming of latex paints, and it is an ideal film-forming aid agents, mainly in the following aspects.

 

1. It can reduce the minimum film-forming temperature of latex paint: Alcohol ester twelve has a prominent solvent effect, that is, it has a strong coalescence ability. In the case of using a small amount, it can effectively reduce the minimum film forming temperature MFT of latex paint, and can expand the use range of latex paint using high glass transition temperature polymers under different ambient temperatures.

2. It can promote the film-forming of latex paint: compared with other film-forming aids, alcohol ester twelve has low water solubility and is easily absorbed by latex ions. It can be directly contacted, and it is easier to swell colloidal particles; its volatilization rate is low , it remains in the latex paint coating before film formation, the solvent will not be affected by the volatilization of water, and the continuity of film formation is good; and it has a suitable volatility, which will completely evaporate in a short time after the latex paint film is formed , will not affect the hardness and gloss expected by latex paint formulation design.
