Physicochemical Properties: 

Bright yellow crystal or crystalline powder. Odorless, very bitter taste. Soluble in boiling water, insoluble in cold water, insoluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform.

 

Applications and Usages: 

To be used as an antibacterial drug, it has inhibitory effect on Shigella, Escherichia coli, Diplococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, typhoid bacillus and amoeba, and it is mainly used for intestinal infection and bacillary dysentery in clinical practice. The product has antiarrhythmic effect.
