Physicochemical Properties:  

Vanadium tetrachloride is an inorganic compound, the chemical formula is VCl4, reddish-brown liquid, poisonous substance. It decomposes in the air or when exposed to water and emits white smoke. Soluble in organic solvents such as absolute alcohol, ether, chloroform and acetic acid. Chemical properties are not very stable.

 

Applications and Usages: 

1. Used in medicine and preparation of vanadium and its organic compounds, vanadium dichloride, vanadium trichloride, etc.

2. It can be used to prepare many other vanadium compounds, including vanadium chloride.

3. It forms adducts with many ligands, such as reacting with tetrahydrofuran to generate VCl4(THF)2.

4. In the rubber industry, vanadium tetrachloride can catalyze the polymerization of olefins.

 

Transportation:

Attention during storage and transportation:

Store in airtight containers in a cool, ventilated place;

Insulate from heat, keep away from flammable materials, and avoid water;

Store when the temperature of the storage place drops below 20°C;

Wear special protective equipment, and inert The container can be opened under the gas protection. "Corrosion" labels must be affixed, air passenger transport and railway transport are prohibited, and air cargo transport is limited.
