Sodium thiocarbamate is sodium N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate, which is an intermediate of fungicides thiram, iron thiram, ammonium irbam, zinc iram, and nickel iram. The pure product of FUME sodium is a scaly white crystal, which is easily soluble in water. The industrial intermediate is a 15% aqueous solution, which is a light yellow or grass green transparent liquid, with a relative density of 1.06 and a pH of 9-11.
Uses:
This product is a disinfectant and can be made into 1% medicated soap. It is also used as a polymerization terminator for styrene-butadiene rubber. Intermediate of rubber accelerator TMTD and pesticide thiram.
