Physicochemical Properties: 

Colorless and odorless oily liquid. Miscible with most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform, soluble in acetone, insoluble in mineral oil. Slightly soluble in water. The solubility in water at 25°C is 5.9g/100ml.

Applications and Usages: 

Used as chromatographic fixative, solvent, toughening agent and spice fixative.
