Physicochemical Properties:

Its appearance is yellow waxy solid, soft and can be cut with a knife. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, soluble in liquid alkali, benzene, ether, chloroform, toluene, easily soluble in carbon disulfide.

 

Applications and Usages: 

Mainly used as raw materials for preparing red phosphorus, phosphoric acid and phosphorus compounds, and also used for rodenticide, etc.
