It is used to manufacture chemicals such as chlorine dioxide, sodium chlorite and perchlorate,

In the textile industry, it is used to remove pigments and impurities.
Sodium chlorate acts as a herbicide
As an oxidizing agent, it is added to pyrotechnics, flares, and matches to provide oxygen for combustion and to produce flames of a specific color.
It is also used in the synthesis of dyes and pigments.
It should be stored in a cool, dry building with a fireproof roof, and the temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 30°C and the relative humidity should not exceed 80%. It shall not be mixed with sulfides, metal powders, ammonium phosphate and other reducing substances, nor shall it be mixed with acids.
