Properties: 

A propylene glycol ether of methyl cellulose, in which the hydroxypropyl and methyl groups are combined with the anhydrous glucose ring of cellulose through ether bonds. different types of products have different ratios of methoxy and hydroxypropyl content. white to off-white fibrous powder or granule. soluble in water and some organic solvents. insoluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution has surface activity, forms a thin film after drying, undergoes a reversible transformation from sol to gel in turn after heating and cooling.

Uses: 

Used as thickener, dispersant, binder, excipient, oil-resistant coating, filler, emulsifier and stabilizer in the textile industry. It is also widely used in synthetic resin, petrochemical, ceramics, paper, leather, medicine, food and cosmetics and other industries.
