Properties: Soluble in ethanol and water, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate and benzene, insoluble in ether and carbon tetrachloride, corrosive to copper and aluminum, and irritating. Tromethamine is a non-sodium amino buffered base. It can react with water in body fluids and reduce it. It is suitable for metabolic acidemia and also for respiratory acidemia. It is an ideal drug for patients with metabolic acidemia combined with acute respiratory acidemia.

Tris is mainly used as a pharmaceutical intermediate; it can be used as a biological buffer and reference material for acid titration; it can also be used as an intermediate for biochemical reagents and fosfomycin; it can also be used as a vulcanization accelerator, cosmetics (cream, detergent) agent), mineral oil, paraffin emulsifier, biological buffer.
